Can I Tell You What I Want on My Wall?
Art chosen for your structure will be relevant to location and historical significance. Because the CB Mural Project is self-funded with monies coming from donors, Grants, and fundraisers, we work with the Federal Point Historic Preservation Society to identify key landmarks and events that make Carolina Beach unique and tell a story about the island's history and/or culture.
Will I Get to Approve the Artist's Concept?
We work closely with you to make sure that you are aligned with our theme choice. As a courtesy, we will also provide you a final artist sketch of the mural before it goes up on your wall. However, final approval of the art is determined by the CB Mural Project Board of Directors.
What Other Obligations Do I Have?
Because the CB Mural Project Committee is fundraising and providing this public art for free, you are obligated to keep the mural up on the wall for five (5) years or compensate the organization for the cost of the mural if it is removed, or the building is torn down before the five (5) years is realized. CB Mural Project supports the marketing, provides the search for Artist and the contract, preps the wall, manages the installation and maintains the wall for 5 years.
