Maureen has always been an active volunteer in her community. Moving from Hermosa Beach, CA to CB with her husband in 2018, she was surprised to see little public art on the Island. She is currently on the board of the Hermosa Beach Murals Project, Wilmington Newcomers Club, CB Business and Economic Development Committee and Chair for the

Maureen has always been an active volunteer in her community. Moving from Hermosa Beach, CA to CB with her husband in 2018, she was surprised to see little public art on the Island. She is currently on the board of the Hermosa Beach Murals Project, Wilmington Newcomers Club, CB Business and Economic Development Committee and Chair for the Derby4Dogs fundraiser supporting paws4people. Maureen was named by WILMA Magazine as a 2020 Woman to Watch. Maureen worked for key brands including Virgin Entertainment, Mattel, Neiman Marcus and Belkin before leaving the corporate world and establishing her own non-profit consulting business.  She's excited to bring art & storytelling to blank walls in her new hometown.

 Matt Hamlet has lived in Carolina Beach for 5.5 years. He is currently on the town marketing committee and is the founder of the Carolina Beach Bar Club. The CBBC was established three years ago as a social group that actively sponsor's events raising funds for local non-profits all while supporting local businesses. Since the inception 

 Matt Hamlet has lived in Carolina Beach for 5.5 years. He is currently on the town marketing committee and is the founder of the Carolina Beach Bar Club. The CBBC was established three years ago as a social group that actively sponsor's events raising funds for local non-profits all while supporting local businesses. Since the inception of the CBBC, over $150,000 has been raised for non-profits and an equal amount for local businesses. In addition to his active engagement in the community, Matt has a bachelors and masters in business marketing management.

Kristen graduated from UNCW in 1997 and has been a Carolina Beach resident for the last 15 years. She is always volunteering on the island. She is a Realtor and mom of two young boys. She is a member of the Town's Business and Economic Development Committee, helps her husband run Pleasure Island Youth Baseball and volunteers at Carolina B

She is a member of the Town's Business and Economic Development Committee, helps her husband run Pleasure Island Youth Baseball and volunteers at Carolina Beach Elementary School. She also organizes a fundraiser with the CBFD every Christmas. You may see her delivering presents with Santa on a fire truck. Kristen is excited to bring murals to CB with her love for art, our coastal community and local history.

 Vince and his wife Kim have been coming to Carolina Beach for the past 7 years but finally made the move full time in March of this year.  Vince ended an over 30 year career as a Corporate Controller of a multinational consumer packaged goods company.  Vince is also the Director of finance and Treasurer for another organization called

   

 Vince and his wife Kim have been coming to Carolina Beach for the past 7 years but finally made the move full time in March of this year.  Vince ended an over 30 year career as a Corporate Controller of a multinational consumer packaged goods company.  Vince is also the Director of finance and Treasurer for another organization called V.I.S.I.O.N Incorporation and has been working on assisting them in getting their 501c3 status from the IRS.  Vince and Kim both love the beauty that is Carolina Beach and Vince feels that this is an opportunity to assist in the continued beautification of the town.

  Susan is a amateur photographer and passionate art lover. She was a part-time CB resident from 1996-2019 and has been fortunate to be here full time since 2019. The evolution of the Town into a cosmopolitan arts center is her secret ambition. Her love of all things art has taken her throughout the US and many other destinations worldwi

The evolution of the Town into a cosmopolitan arts center is her secret ambition. Her love of all things art has taken her throughout the US and many other destinations worldwide. She inherited this love from her dad, and is fortunate to share it with her art historian daughter.

Skip has been involved with Arts & Design his entire life, from cooking in commercial kitchens to designing residential kitchens and baths, to custom picture framing and gallery owner.  

When Skip moved to Carolina Beach he found the Carolina Beach Art & Culture Alliance group. This organization is best known for the Carolina Beach Street

 

Skip has been involved with Arts & Design his entire life, from cooking in commercial kitchens to designing residential kitchens and baths, to custom picture framing and gallery owner.  

When Skip moved to Carolina Beach he found the Carolina Beach Art & Culture Alliance group. This organization is best known for the Carolina Beach Street Arts Festival active since 2014. The organization  also produces the annual Mardi Gras fundraiser which supports Arts in local schools and stepped up to  help fund & foster the Carolina Beach Mural Project.

Skip is president of The IACA and an active board member of Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce.

He owns and operate TipTop Frame shop located on the Island .

Susan  was born  in  Salt  Lake City,  Utah,  where  she  grew up  loving  the  outdoors and  the beauty  of  nature. Many vacations were spent camping with her family and exploring the western half of the United States. She studied Commercial Art and Advertising at Utah State University and continues to take classes and workshops

to expan

to expand her artistic skills."

In   1996,   she   started   Creative  Art   by   Susan   Nuttall,   a   company   specializing   in  commissioned paintings  and custom murals. 

Susan   currently lives   in   Carolina  Beach  where her   paintings  are   inspired   from   photos   taken  during her many travels around the world. She is honored that her artwork has won numerous awards, both "regionally and nationally. Her paintings can

be found in public and private collections throughout the world

Four years ago she and her husband relocated to North Carolina and put down stakes in CB. As a native of So Cal and beach living, Emilie was exposed to, and gain

Four years ago she and her husband relocated to North Carolina and put down stakes in CB. As a native of So Cal and beach living, Emilie was exposed to, and gained an appreciation of, how the beauty and vibrancy of mural art contributes to a community. While maintaining a laid back beach vibe, Emilie is excited to participate in the enrichment of Pleasure Island with historical, geographical and in the depiction of current events through wall art.

Andrea is a seasoned marketer and the President & Founder of andgreat—a marketing, branding, and events firm that specializes in helping businesses design unique and unforgettable experiential marketing programs. She is currently on the board of Island Women,

Andrea is a seasoned marketer and the President & Founder of andgreat—a marketing, branding, and events firm that specializes in helping businesses design unique and unforgettable experiential marketing programs. She is currently on the board of Island Women, and a teeball coach for her daughter’s 4-year-old team. Andrea is looking forward to becoming more involved in her new community.

Jay is currently the liaison for the Beautification Committee and Parks and Recreation Committee. He's looking  forward working with such a talented and artistic group of individuals on making Carolina Beach a more beautiful place to live.

She feels that being on our committee to get large scale art up on public walls in her own community is a valuable step in synergizing her vision with reality.
