The downtown Boardwalk Business District is often the first place visitors stop to encounter Carolina Beach.
Classic beach music, the smell of suntan lotion, surfing gentle waves, the shelter of the sand dunes and waking up to amazing sunrises are experiences both visitors and residents enjoy.
The goal for this wall is to celebrate our colorful Carolina Beach vibe. CAROLINA DREAMIN'
Jason Parker is a North Carolina -based street artist / muralist. An artist from an early age , Jason found and fell in love with graffiti culture in the early 90’s and spray paint would from then on be his preferred medium.
Jason’s methods and style would be heavily influenced by the DIY spirit of punk rock , early hip hop and skateboarding.
Album covers, skateboard graphics , concert posters and flyers would spark his interest in graphic arts . Jason learned to hand cut stencils as a crude form of screen printing , and stencils would eventually become an integral element of his street art. The retro graphic style remains evident in his original works.
Jason’s mural career began three years ago when he was asked to paint a mural for a friends taco shop. The artist enjoyed working in large format so much that from that point on the goal was to go bigger. Since then Jason has managed to leave murals and street art from the east coast to California , from the Midwest to the deep South .
To further hone his craft Jason worked as the assistant to an international artist / muralist and continued to broaden his skill set. Jason’s extensive background in the construction industry proved to be a valuable cross discipline when crossing into the world of commercial murals.
To date his art can be found on breweries and food trucks , eateries and office buildings , apartment complexes , skateparks and galleries . It is the artists goal to continue to learn and grow while spreading color to places that may need it .
Jason's "Carolina Dreamin" was inspired by Carolina Beach's brilliant sunrises, the native flora in the dunes and the surfers who are eager to catch an early morning wave.
