Beka Butts-Beka is the named Artist for #13, titled "Bountiful Butterflies (The Journey Home)". Beka is an illustrator and muralist based in Greensboro, NC. A graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, Beka returned to North Carolina in 2010, and began working as a local artist, active in her community as a co-founder of an artists collective, as well as working with local businesses and patrons as a freelance illustrator and muralist.
She has focused primarily on public art throughout the Southeast in the last few years. Beka has created large scale works, executed in a variety of street art mediums, utilizing traditional painting in spray and bucket paint, vibrant color and design.

According to the NC Wildlife Foundation, who the CB Mural Project is partnering for this mural, “The Butterfly Highway is a statewide conservation restoration initiative that aims to restore native pollinator habitats to areas impacted by urbanization, land use change and agriculture across North Carolina. From backyard Pollinator Pitstops to large-scale roadside habitat restoration, the project is creating a network of native flowering plants to support butterflies, bees, birds and other pollen and nectar dependent wildlife.”
